MCS gave me the foundational principles and skills to identify what stories are important to tell as well as how to articulate it in a way to make the viewer care and understand. They also provided me the flexibility to use their equipment to work on my own stories outside of class that allowed me to grow as a filmmaker on a daily basis. The main reason I recommend MCS to students wanting to learn more about film making and journalism is the people. The people that make the department what it is today truly care about the students and will move mountains to give them opportunities and teach them. It's the people I remember the most, and that is invaluable.
